Agriculture minister: All damage to be compensated
BELGRADE - The Serbian government and the Ministry of Agriculture are committed to providing complete compensation to farmers for damage caused by the May floods, but it can not be compensated in full immediately, Serbian Agriculture Minister Snezana Bogosavljevic Boskovic said on Sunday.
Speaking to reporters in Backo Gradiste, where the government presented the results of its first hundred days in office, she said that compensation will soon be distributed to crop and livestock farmers, and that other types of damage will then be compensated in late September and early October.
Speaking about her ministry's first hundred days in office, Bogosavljevic Boskovic noted the adoption of the agricultural and rural development strategy for the period between 2014 and 2024.
The procedure of adopting six major bills, including on environmental protection, is under way, while much has also been done to secure money from IPA funds, she added.
