Companies made profit from Tijana’s death

Eleven wholesale companies and a craft store have earned more than 37 million Dinar on the purchase of equipment for the Institute for Mother and Child “Dr. Vukan Čupić”, which was bought by the parents of the little Tijana Ognjanović with the money donated for her treatment. The highest profit at the expense of the people who donated the money to save life of little Tijana was made by “Gorenje GTI” and “MD Imaging”.

Retail companies have been used as intermediaries, because goods were bought and delivered by wholesale enterprises. They imported equipment at one price, but the charged price (including margin) was much higher in some cases, Internal Affairs Ministry sources claim.

On that occasion several companies made 15,000 to more than 95,000 Euro intermediation profit.
 

The Institute for Mother and Child denies any involvement in the affair, saying that “not a single Dinar passed through their account” and that a 95,000 Euro margin is real, but there is evidence of their direct involvement in the case. Namely, they chose the suppliers together with the family.
 

According to well informed sources, there are audio recordings of meetings attended by the representatives of the commission made up of medics and the family Ognjanović.

 

In March, the commission prepared a list of needed equipment, which was submitted to the Ministry of Health. The proposal signed by the then director Bogdanović included a list of explicitly named departments for which the equipment was to be purchased, with the name of the instrument, the brand and suppliers.
