Greek stocks head south for fourth month in a row

The Athens Exchange general index headed south on Friday, falling by 0.49 percent to 1,161.81 points.

This was the lowest point the bourse hit all day, having risen as high as 1,182.34 points at one stage.

Turnover increased by almost 16 percent compared to Thursday’s session, reaching 97.19 million euros.

Friday’s decline meant that August was the fourth consecutive month in which there has been a monthly fall in the general index.
