Jankovic races through to US Open fourth round

NEW YORK – Serbia’s Jelena Jankovic advanced to the fourth round of US Open after sweeping past Johanna Larsson of Sweden 6-1, 6-0 late on Friday CET.

A superior display against world No. 96 announced the in-form ninth seed Jankovic to be a real contender in the last Grand Slam of the season.

Jankovic next faces Belinda Bencic of Switzerland, who defeated German No. 6 seed Angelique Kerber 6-1, 7-5.
