Serbian parliament to hold extraordinary session Sep 4

BELGRADE - Serbian Parliament Speaker Maja Gojkovic called the ninth extraordinary parliamentary session for September 4 to debate on 25 bills and other documents.

MPs will be given an opportunity to consider and adopt the bills on public administration and civil servants, and the bill of amendments to the law on salaries of civil servants and appointees, and the law on salaries in state bodies and public services.

The session agenda will also include bills related to higher education, press service of the Serbian parliament said in a release.

MPs will also debate and vote on the bill to ratify the agreement between the government of Serbia and the EU on Serbia's participation in Horizon 2020, part of the EU's framework program for research and innovation, covering the period from 2014 to 2020.

MPs are also to ratify the government decree on amendments and supplements to the Financial Plan of the National Employment Service for the year 2014.

According to the release, MPs will consider the bill on the foundation of a European center for mid-term weather forecast and related regulations.

The extraordinary session will also include a debate on a set of laws regulating the cooperation between the governments of Serbia and countries in the region in terms of safety measures and mutual exchange and protection of confidential data.

MPs will also debate on other laws and agreements relating to cooperation with countries in the region in the fields of social care, economic cooperation and passenger transport.
