Krunic's dream run at US Open ends
NEW YORK - Serbian qualifier Aleksandra Krunic lost her fourth round match at the US Open to Victoria Azarenka of Belarus in three sets (4-6, 6-4, 6-4) early on Tuesday CET.
In the match that lasted two hours and 18 minutes, the 21-year-old Serbian showed flashes of brilliance before struggling to keep her focus in the final set, which cost her a place in the quarter-finals.
Azarenka will next play Russia's Ekaterina Makarova, who defeated Eugenie Bouchard of Canada 7-6 6-4.
