BTC Willing To Buy Over-The-Air Digital Signal Broadcaster

Bulgarian Telecommunications Company (BTC) informed the Competition Protection Commission (CPC) of its intentions to buy the broadcaster of the free over-the-air digital signal. 

The NURTS Bulgaria group invested and set up the infrastructure necessary for distribution of the free over-the-air digital television and radio signal on the territory of Bulgaria, but its owners recently decided to get rid of it, due to "the macroeconomic situation and lack of consumer interest in the digital over-the-air signal".

In its letter of intent to the CPC, BTC, which operates under the brand Vivacom, declared that it will fulfill all contractual and legal duties of NURTS Bulgaria.
