PM Ponta writes main party leaders to back Corina Cretu for European commissioner

Romanian Prime Minister Victor Ponta sent a letter to the leaders of the main political parties on Thursday asking them to back the candidate of Romania for European Regional Policy Commissioner, Corina Cretu.

The prime minister addressed Liberal (PNL) head Klaus Iohannis, Democratic Liberal (PDL) head Vasile Blaga, the leader of the Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania (UDMR) Kelemen Hunor and the People's Movement Party (PMP) chair Elena Udrea in their capacity of 'members of the European People's Party and also as leaders of parties with representatives in the European Parliament and the Parliament of Romania'.
