Gas supplies from the Russian Federation to Romania were cut by 5 percent this Friday from the planned amount, with the Russian side offering no motivation, Minister-delegate for Energy Razvan Nicolescu told AGERPRES.

"Gas flows expected for delivery from the Russian Federation to Romania decreased this Friday by 5 percent from the planned amount. This is about small amounts, anyway. We received no official notification as to the reason of this reduction," Nicolescu said.

The Minister called a meeting at 4:00 p.m. today with Transgaz, Petrom and Romgaz representatives to look into the newly created situation.
