On Romanian Firefighters' Day PM Ponta thanks servicemen for essential job they do for the country

Premier Victor Ponta on Saturday thanked the firefighters for the way they fulfill their duty and reminded the trust they enjoy in the eyes of Romanians.

"The Romanians know that there are always officers, non-coms, people who keep watch and who are ready to take action in whatever kind of trouble. This is an essential service you do for Romania and I want to thank you on this special day for everything you have done and you will further do. (...) I know perfectly well what your job implies away from the rolling cameras, away from media or public attention, and for all this I think that you deserve the gratitude and appreciation of the public opinion. I think that you deserve this top position in Romania's confidence ranking, alongside the Army and the Church, and I want to say (...) that our permanent efforts are to make sure you collect the adequate wages on time, that you have the necessary working conditions and infrastructure, I think all we do is just our duty in helping you accomplish your mission," the Prime Minister said on the occasion of celebrations of the Firefighters Day organized at the Hero Firefighters Monument in Bucharest.
