Election authority: Eligible-to-vote Romanians 18,313,698 on Nov. 2, 18,321,512 on Nov. 16
There are 18,313,698 Romanian citizens eligible to vote in the first round of the presidential elections on Nov. 2, and 18,321,512 on Nov. 16 in the second round, according to the latest data released by the Standing Election Authority.
"As compared to the last public information made by the Standing Election Authority on this issue, the total number of voters eligible to vote on November 2 dropped by 22,556 and by 22,559 when it comes to November 16 (18,336,254 eligible-to-vote Romanian citizens recorded on the electoral roll on August 18, 2014 vs. 18,313,698 on Sept. 12, 2014 for Nov. 2, 18,344,071 eligible-to-vote Romanians on Aug. 18 vs. 18,321,512 on Sept. 12, 2014 for Nov. 16)", the Authority reports in a release.
The difference is the result of the current operations made by the mayors on the electoral roll relevant to their communities, of the import of programmed data from the Directorate for the Population Records and Data Bases Management with the Ministry of the Interior.
As for the number of eligible-to-vote Romanian citizens with the residence abroad, their number stands at 530,158 for Nov. 2 and at 530,532 for Nov. 16, according to information provided by the General Directorate for Passports on Sept. 15. AGERPRES
