Dacic: Serbia backs fight against Islamists
BELGRADE - Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic said that Serbia supports the global anti-terrorism alliance.
The global alliance is also important for our region, where the number of jihadists is substantial, Dacic told the Wednesday edition of Belgrade daily Blic.
The daily notes that a law is soon to be passed in Serbia that will prevent Serbian citizens from participating in wars in foreign countries.
Around 40 radical Islamists from the Raska district are fighting in Syria, most of them on the side of the terrorist organization 'Islamic State', Blic states.
The greatest threat comes from those who have returned from the war with blood on their hands, and they will be kept under close surveillance, says a Blic source close to security structures.
An international conference was held in Paris two days ago to discuss the global strategy against 'Islamic State'. The representatives of 30 countries have agreed to offer military support to Bagdad in the fight against jihadists.
