Serbia supports peaceful solution to crisis in Ukraine

BELGRADE - Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic conferred on Wednesday with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Alexey Meshkov, and stated that Serbia will continue to support the search for a peaceful solution to the crisis in Ukraine.

Vucic expressed satisfaction with the two countries' good relations and frequent high-level meetings and contacts, the Serbian government Office for Cooperation with the Media released.

Vucic voiced concern over the conflicts in the east of Ukraine and added that Serbia will support a peaceful solution to the crisis in Ukraine.

Meshkov expressed gratitude for Serbia's support and understanding of the situation Russia is facing in the context of the crisis in Ukraine, adding that his country does not wish this situation to create additional pressure on Serbia.

He also noted that Moscow is ready for intensification of cooperation with Serbia in all areas and that it respects the Serbian government's independent and responsible position in terms of foreign policy, the release reads.
