Keefe: Government measures very significant

BELGRADE - The fiscal consolidation measures that the Serbian government intends to adopt are very significant, says British Ambassador to Serbia Denis Keefe.

As far as economic reforms are concerned, the policy of the Serbian government is clear and progress has been made, as several important laws - the labour law and the media law - were passed a month ago and I think that this represents progress, implementation is what should follow next, Keefe has told Tanjug.

The budget revision is another important matter that is related to the reforms, he said.

The fiscal consolidation measures announced by Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic on September 18 are very significant, and I think that, combined with the new laws, these are positive steps towards reforming the Serbian economy and continuing the process of accession to the European Union, Keefe said.
