EU integration minister meets with Japanese businessmen

BELGRADE - Representatives of the Japan Business Federation KEIDANREN, who are staying on a visit to Belgrade in order to consider possibilities for investing in Serbia, were acquainted on Wednesday with reform processes which are aimed at improving the business climate, Jadranka Joksimovic, minister without portfolio in charge of the EU integration, stated on Wednesday.

Joksimovic told reporters after the meeting that the Japanese businessmen were very interested in numerous benefits which Serbia, as an EU candidate, offers to foreign investors.

Japanese businessmen were acquainted with the business environment, reform processes and measures to improve the investment climate, Joksimovic said.

The meeting with representatives of KEIDANREN, which brings together some of the largest Japanese companies, also discussed innovations, she said.

"We have presented, I believe in the best possible way, the opportunities that Serbia offers, and we expect that this visit will be soon followed by a Japanese investment," the minister said.

The business forum of Serbian and Japanese businessmen will be held in Belgrade on Wednesday, during the visit of the delegation of the Japan Business Federation KEIDANREN headed by Co-Chairman of the Committee for Europe Yoshio Sato.

The goal of the visit is to get acquainted with the perspectives of the Serbian economy and possibilities of enlargement of bilateral economic cooperation, the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS) announced, which together with the Embassy of Japan in Belgrade, organizes the event.
