Belgrade to host Cross-Border Cooperation Conference

BELGRADE - The fourth National Cross-Border Cooperation Conference, whose goal is to point to the results achieved in this area, will be held in Belgrade on Friday and organized by the Serbian government's Office for European Integration.

The conference, which is held during the week of the European Territorial Cooperation in over 40 countries in Europe, will feature the achievements of the cross-border and transnational cooperation programs carried out in Serbia and neighboring countries and the ones that will be funded by the EU from 2014 to 2020 .

The programs are offering support to institutions and organizations in the border areas of the neighboring states with an aim to promote cooperation and improve living conditions in undeveloped areas and areas which are difficult to reach.

The participants will be addressed by Minister without portfolio in charge of the European Integration and National IPA Coordinator Jadranka Joksimovic, Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Michael Davenport, Konstantinos Mousouroulis of the Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy of the European Commission and others, the government's press office announced.

The conference is expected to bring together more than 200 representatives of the Serbian government institutions, EU, regional and local self-governments, academia and civil society.
