Jagland welcomes Belgrade's decision to stage Pride Parade

STRASBOURG - Secretary General of the Council of Europe (CoE) Thorbjorn Jagland welcomed the decision of Serbia to meet the conditions for staging the Pride Parade in Belgrade.

After three years, the Serbian authorities gave permission for the Pride Parade in Belgrade to be staged and guaranteed freedom of expression and peaceful assembly to members of the LBGT population, Jagland said.

This turn of the situation is welcome, Jagland said as reported by CoE and added that he hopes this trend will continue in the years to come.
