ForMin Corlatean: The anti-missile shield, an essential contribution of Romania to NATO security project

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Titus Corlatean, has stated on Thursday that the missile shield that in the process of implementation at Deveselu (southern Romania) has a defensive nature and represents an essential contribution of Romania to the North Atlantic Alliance's security project.

"Romania, a trusted ally, has brought its own contribution, firstly on a bilateral level with the USA through the inter-governmental agreement concluded earlier, with 14 subsequent arrangements having to do with the implementation of this agreement regarding the anti-missile shield and the facilities at Deveselu. It is a project, the anti-missile shield (...) defensive in its nature, as it is not aimed against anyone, it just guarantees the security of states allied to Romania, regional security, while representing Romania's essential contribution to the North Atlantic Alliance's security project", said Corlatean.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Titus Corlatean, has participated on Thursday in the opening of the NATO exhibition dedicated to the domain of defence against ballistic missiles, organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Public Diplomacy Division of the North Atlantic Alliance at the Palace of the Parliament.
