Eight Parties, Coalitions to Enter Bulgaria Parliament – Sova Harris Exit Poll
A total of eight parties and coalitions have won enough votes in Sunday's snap general elections to enter Bulgaria's next Parliament, an exit poll showed.
According to the survey conducted by Sova Harris polling agency, centre-right GERB party led by former Prime Minister Boyko Borisov has won 33.6% of the vote.
The result will make GERB the largest political force in the 240-seat National Assembly but it is leaving the party short of overall majority which will force GERB to seek partners to form a coalition cabinet.
The Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) came second in the race with 15.7% support, followed by mainly ethnic Turk Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS) with 13%.
The Reformist Bloc coalition had 9% support, the nationalist Patriotic Front coalition won 6.7% and Bulgaria Without Censorship followed with 6% of the vote.
The nationalist Ataka party won 5.3% and ABV party led by former President Georgi Parvanov had 4.7%.
The threshold for entering Bulgaria's parliament is set at 4% of the vote.
A total of 6.87 million voters were registered for Sunday's elections, the second snap vote in as many years.
