Serbia failed to reach 3rd stage of world championship

VERONA - Serbia lost to Russia 3-0 (28-26 25-18 25-17) in the last round of Group F of the women's volleyball world championship in Italy and so failed to reach the 3rd stage of the competition.

The team coached by Zoran Terzic needed to win 2 sets against the Russians in order to move through to the next stage, which would have put them in a position to fight for a medal, but they lacked focus and power in the crucial match.

The goal remained out of reach mostly because of their own errors and great fluctuations in the game, which Russia was able to profit from.

Serbia finished its appearance at the world championship in Italy with a score of 6 wins and 3 losses.
