Pajtic, Brussels officials discuss agriculture projects
BRUSSELS / NOVI SAD - A delegation of the provincial government of Vojvodina, headed by its president, Bojan Pajtic, discussed agricultural projects with officials in Brussels, the provincial government's office of public relations said in a release on Wednesday.
"We talked about and agreed about using high technology in agriculture. We have got a project of seven million euros for the development of information technologies with applications in agriculture," Pajtic said while attending the 12th European Week of Regions and Cities (Open Days) event, taking place in Brussels on October 6-9.
We will work together with representatives of European regions to "define" products within the framework of the Danube Strategy, which will provide for more efficient and more profitable business of Serbian farmers, Pajtic said, adding that one of the products was the Danube soya.
Thanks to joint efforts of the European regions, it will soon become one of the products ensuring a better position for agriculture, said Pajtic, addign that he was speaking about a better position for both Serbia's agriculture and the agriculture other European countries.
Pajtic had a series of meetings with European officials and representatives of the regions participating in the Open Days event.
The provincial government's delegation had meetings with European Commissioner for Regional Policy Johannes Hahn, Head of the European Parliament's Delegation for Relations with Western Balkans Eduard Kukan, as well as with representatives of the most developed regions that Vojvodina has a long-standing tradition of cooperation with, the release said.
