Dacic invited to attend conference in Berlin

BELGRADE - Ivica Dacic, Serbian first deputy prime minister and minister of foreign affairs, has met with German and British Ambassadors to Serbia Heinz Wilhelm and Dennis Keefe, who presented him with an invitation to the conference of ministers of foreign affairs in Berlin on November 5.

The ambassadors forwarded the invitation from Foreign Ministers of Germany and Great Britain Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Philip Hammond respectively to Dacic to attend the Sixth Conference of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the SEE countries, which will be organized by the Aspen Institute Germany in Berlin on November 5, reads a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday.

Ministers Steinmeier and Hammond are sponsors of the conference, which will be attended by foreign ministers from the region, members of the Bundestag and the European Parliament, as well as senior U.S. officials.

This is a traditional meeting that will table a number of issues on regional cooperation in South Eastern Europe, strengthening of unity, contribution to stabilization and stimulation of economic development of the region.

At Friday's meeting, Minister Dacic and Ambassadors Wilhelm and O'Keefe discussed the current developments in the region, issues concerning bilateral relations between Serbia and Germany and Britain, and Serbia's forthcoming OSCE chairmanship, reads a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
