Tennis: Simona Halep defeats Serena Williams 6-0, 6-2 in Singapore WTA Finals
Romanian tennis player Simona Halep secured a sensational victory against world's No. 1 female tennis player, American Serena Williams 6-0, 6-2, in her second match at the WTA Finals in Singapore on Wednesday.
Halep, #4 in the world, scored the biggest win of her career in only 65 minutes, after losing the three matches previously played against Serena Williams.
Simona Halep, former #2 in the world, defeated Canadian player Eugenie Bouchard 6-2, 6-3 in the first match of the Red Group at the WTA Finals. The Romanian player has secured so far 460 WTA points and 406,000 dollars at this 6.5-million-dollar competition.
Williams has not lost 6-0 to anyone since 2008, when her sister Venus defeated her 5-7, 6-1, 6-0 at the WTA Finals in Qatar.

Simona Halep will play the last match of the group against Serbia's Ana Ivanovic (#7 WTA) on Friday. Simona defeated Ivanovic 2-6, 6-1, 6-3 last year at the Garanti Koza WTA Tournament of Champions in Sofia and this year 6-2, 6-2 in the quarterfinals of the Madrid tournament.AGERPRES
