Dacic to attend Visegrad Group meeting in Bratislava
BELGRADE, BRATISLAVA - Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic will head a Serbian delegation at an annual meeting of the foreign ministers of the Visegrad Group member-states and Western Balkan countries in Bratislava on Friday.
According to a release from the Serbian Foreign Ministry, the meeting should discuss issues related to regional cooperation and the economic situation in the Western Balkans and efforts to deal with with the consequences of the massive flooding that hit the region in May.
The aim of the meeting is to give a positive impulse to continuing the policy of EU expansion to the Western Balkans, the release said.
The annual meeting, which began in Bratislava today, should also be attended by the ministers of foreign affairs of Austria and Italy, Sebastian Kurz and Federica Mogherini, respectively, and by outgoing EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton.
It is expected that a solidarity fund for the Western Balkans will be set up during the meeting of the Visegrad Group, known also as the Visegrad Four, whose members are Poland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia.
