Digital NBS - Publications on EU presented

BELGRADE - The National Library of Serbia (NBS) presented on Thursday seven publications on the European Union within its collection titled "The Digital National Library of Serbia".

The promotion of the publications was organized in view of the signed memorandum of cooperation between the Ministry of Culture, National Library of Serbia, and the EU Delegation.

The National Library, as a culture institution of national importance, provides information to all interested readers about the opportunities and advantages entailed in EU membership, about the functioning of the EU, and Serbia's cooperation with the EU and its member states.

Libraries in Serbia are a key source of quality information concerning Serbia- EU relations, the EU and its member states, a release reads.

The memorandums of understanding were signed by Culture Minister Ivan Tasovac, Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Michael Davenport and NBS Acting Director Svetlana Jancic in the NBS building on July 14.

With the ministry's backing, the Digital National Library of Serbia was built in line with the principles of open access to knowledge and information.
