Police looking for dark SUV used in Athens drive-by shooting

Bystanders are reflected in the mirrored windows of the Vathy Square cafe where a drive-by shooting in the early of Friday resulted in one man being killed.

Police were seeking two men in connection with a deadly drive-by shooting at Vathis Square in central Athens early on Friday.

A 44-year-old Greek man was killed in the attack and an Albanian woman was injured.

Witnesses told investigators that a dark-colored SUV with smoked glass windows pulled up in front of a cafe and a gunman opened fire on the establishment with a large-caliber weapon, possibly a Kalashnikov assault rifle, killing the 44-year-old who was standing outside and the injuring the woman inside.

The vehicle drove off at high speed and was later identified from its license plate number as belonging to an Albanian national.
