Trilateral European group meeting starts Friday in Belgrade

BELGRADE - Trilateral Commission, frequently referred to as "World Shadow Government", will hold the regional meeting of its European group from Friday to Sunday in Belgrade.

The three-day meeting, bringing together members of the global economic and political elite, will be closed to the public, which spurs even more curiosity regarding the participants and the topics of the 38th Trilateral meeting which for the first time takes place in Belgrade.

The Trilateral Commission's official website offers no information about the Belgrade meeting. According to media announcements, the meeting will be opened by European chairman and former head of the European Central Bank Jean-Claude Trichet, and the participants will be welcomed by Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic.

Chairman of the Trilateral Commission's Serbian National Group Jovan Kovacic told Tanjug that he expects the meeting to be well-attended, adding that the entire Serbian government and the regional leaders were invited.

Speaking about the influence of the Trilateral Commission, chairman of the organizing board Tahir Hasanovic said that it has had a significant impact on global financial and economic developments for more than four decades, as its members are distinguished individuals with a clear insight into the global situation.

The Trilateral Commission was co-founded in New York in 1973 by the wealthy American banker and philanthropist David Rockefeller, and Zbigniew Brzezinski, advisor to the then US president Jimmy Carter. It was established as a result of a disagreement between the Bilderberg Group and its member Rockefeller on whether Japan should be admitted to the club.
