Bulgaria's BDC Could Send Experts to GERB-RB Gov't

The Bulgarian Democratic Center (BDC) is ready to send experts to enter the prospective minority coalition of conservative GERB and right-wing Reformist Bloc, BDC officials say.

The announcement was made after a meeting of President Rosen Plevneliev on Monday with MPs from the parliamentary group of the coalition led by Nikolay Barekov's Bulgaria without Censorship.

Barekov himself was also expected to attend the meeting as BwC leader, but four lawmakers represented the group instead.

BDC's team was quoted by public broadcaster BNR as saying it had unveiled its priorities during the consultations, adding it would put emphasis mainly on the 2015 budget and also on reform in the judiciary.

It warned it would not back the program of GERB and RB until it had seen the document which is to be made public later on Monday.

BDC Group's Chairman Svetlin Tanchev stressed the group had discussed with Plevneliev a range of issues, including economy, job creation, healthcare and judiciary.   

Presidential consultations with all parties in Parliament are a prerequisite for handing out the government mandate to the biggest entity in the National Assembly.
