Serbia to Host Joint Military Exercise with Russia in November

Serbia will host a joint military exercise with Russia in the first half of November, ITAR-TASS reported on Wednesday. 

Russian airborne troops and Serbian ground forces will take part in the drill codenamed SREM 2014. 

The exercise, part of the international military cooperation plan of Russian armed forces for 2014, will feature an airborne assault operation for elimination of a terrorist base and release of hostages, the Russian news agency said.

Last year, Russia and Serbia signed an agreement on military and technical cooperation. Joint flight tactical exercises of the two countries' air forces are planned for next year.
