Final results of 1st round of presidential polls: Ponta - 40.44 pct, Iohannis - 30.37 pct
Victor Ponta, endorsed by an alliance of the Social Democratic Party (PSD), the National Union for Romania's Progress (UNPR) and the Conservative Party (PC), won 40.44 percent (3,836,093 votes) of votes in the November 2 first round of the presidential elections, while the candidate of the Christian Liberal Alliance (ACL), Klaus Iohannis, won 30.37 percent (2,881,406 votes), according to the report on the election results, published on the website of the Central Electoral Bureau (BEC).
According to the document revealed by the Election Bureau, Victor Ponta and Klaus Iohannis are the candidates to advance to the second round of the presidential elections.
