Nikolic: Serbia committed to military neutrality

BELGRADE - Serbia will demonstrate its commitment to the policy of military neutrality in the forthcoming military exercises with the armed forces of the Russian Federation, the U.S. and several Balkan countries, it was said at the meeting between Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic, Chief-of-staff of the Serbian Armed Forces Ljubisa Dikovic and the wider collegiate of the Serbian Army headquarters.

The meeting covered the situation in the army, the system of education and peacekeeping missions in which members of Serbian Armed Forces are participating.

The talks also covered the forthcoming military exercises with the armed forces of the Russian Federation, the U.S. and several Balkan countries during which Serbia will demonstrate its commitment to the policy of military neutrality, the Serbian president's press service released.

Serbia has demonstrated a high degree of professionalism and training in a number of peacekeeping operations worldwide and members of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Serbia have set high standards in actions conducted by peacekeeping troops, states the release.
