Djuric: Life should be made easier for people in Kosovo
BRUSSELS - Head of the Serbian government office for Kosovo Marko Djuric said after a meeting on Friday, held as part of the talks on the normalisation of relations with Pristina, that the main goal of the meeting had been to find ways to make life easier for the people in Kosovo.
The discussion at the meeting, facilitated by the EU, focused on ways of reducing the level of bureaucracy in the lives of regular people, he told reporters after a meeting at the European External Action Service in Brussels.
The Serbian delegation included Djuric, his deputy Dusan Kozarev, Serbian government liaison officer in Pristina Dejan Pavicevic and coorodinator of the management team for the establishment of the association of Serb muunicipalities Ljubomir Maric, while the Pristina delegation was led by Kosovo's Deputy Prime Minister Edita Tahiri.
"We mentioned motor vehicle insurance, because the people crossing the administrative line have to pay a lot for that," he stated, stressing that the talks were constructive.
Besides, it was also agreed that officials' visits to Pristina and Belgrade would be agreed through the liaison officers from December 1, instead of through Eulex, which is the case at the moment.
According to Djuric, there was no mention at the meeting of forming the association of Serb municipalities, because that topic cannot be put on the table until Kosovo forms a new government.
