Advocaat no longer Serbia's coach

BELGRADE - The Football Association of Serbia (FSS) has decided to end the contract with national coach Dick Advocaat, the SOS TV station reported on Saturday.

The FSS held a meeting with the Dutch coach after the 3-1 defeat against Denmark in Belgrade in a European championship qualifier match on Friday and thetwo sides agreed to terminate the contract.

It is still unknown who will take over the national team for the friendly match against Greece on Crete next Tuesday, but it is possible that Radovan Curcic, who coaches the under-21 team, will take over for temporarily for the second time in his career.

Advocaat spent less than 4 months at the helm of Serbia's national team. The cause of his departure is Serbia's poor start in the European championship qualifications, currently in 4th place in the group, with only one point.
