Djordjevic, Gocul discuss defense cooperation

BELGRADE - Secretary of State at the Serbian Defense Ministry Zoran Djordjevic met with General Mieczyslaw Gocul, chief of the General Staff of the Polish Armed Forces, to discuss ways to promote defense cooperation, on Thursday.

The two officials discussed opportunities to further promote cooperation in the field of defense based on overall good relations between the two countries.

Djordjevic pointed to participation in EU crisis management operations and development of joint projects with the European Defence Agency as priorities of cooperation of the Defense Ministry and the Serbian Armed Forces with the European Union.

Improving the administrative capacity for active cooperation in the framework of the Common Security and Defence Policy is also among priorities, the state secretary said.

Djordjevic thanked Poland for supporting Serbia's European integration and for helping the Serbian people during the May flooding, the Serbian Defense Ministry said on its website.
