Piraeus nightclub shooting leaves 3 seriously injured

All least 14 people were injured – two seriously – early on Saturday when a gunman opened fire at a nightclub in the Mikrolimano suburb of Piraeus.

The gunman is believed to be an Albanian aged 30 and linked to a string of attacks. Witnesses told police that the man had left the bar and returned a short while later, after 4 a.m., with a Kalashnikov assault rifle. He shouted insults at patrons before opening fire.

Fourteen spent shells were found at the scene.A manhunt was underway for the suspect, with sources suggesting that he has carried out at least three other attacks, including a deadly drive-by shooting in central Athens last month.
