RB's Radan Kanev Calls For Unity
Radan Kanev, spokesperson of the Reformist Bloc (RB) coalition and chairperson of Democrats For Strong Bulgaria (DSB) called for unification of the coalition in a single national structure.
In a 30-minute speech before the national meeting of DSB Kanev, quoted by the RB press office, noted that in its current form the RB is exhausted, cannot make the necessary reforms and disappoints its supporters.
"We cannot complete our duties without consolidating the rightist parties," Kanev noted. "Either of our minister is helpless without a strong political force behind him - he can fall the victim of powerful interests, dangerous adversaries and strong competitors. … Behind the bravery and will must stand a brave, willful and unified rightist formation, a unified Reformist Bloc."
Kanev, however, noted that in the past year since the RB was established, the trust among the member parties did not grow and the public witnessed constant bickering among the leaders. "This climaxed during the government negotiations," Kanev said, adding that the five parties in the Bloc got estranged.
In his words the possible solutions were three: the merging in a single party, the setting up of a "tight political formation" with a single leader, or a confederacy of the member parties in a single structure, without disbanding them.
