Budget surplus in July and October

BELGRADE - The Serbian budget recorded a surplus of RSD 268.5 million in October, the Finance Ministry released.

This is the second time this year that the budget recorded a surplus, and the first budget surplus worth RSD 6.86 billion was achieved in July.

According to the Finance Ministry data, budget revenues exceeded the expenses for the second time this year in October and totalled RSD 79.3 billion, while the expenses added up to RSD 79.1 billion,

In the period from January to October, overall budget recorded a deficit of RSD 139.8 billion. Taking into account the expenditures from project loans that are not part of the budget but constitute finance points on the republic level, the deficit totalled RSD 149.7 billion.

Tax revenues totalled RSD 70.2 billion, non-tax revenues added up to RSD 9 billion and donations brought in RSD 0.2 billion. Highest revenues were recorded with VAT, totalling RSD 42.7 billion.

The quarterly obligations on grounds of VAT tax are collected in October, which is why the VAT revenues were considerably higher in that month than in the past two months. The budget also recorded record inflow on grounds of VAT import component to the total sum of RSD 28.8 billion in October, states the release issued by the Ministry.

The expenditures listed considerably lower interest payments compared to September, since funds were allocated for obligations on grounds of eurobonds and the debt to the Paris Club in September.
