PM Ponta discusses European investment plan with EC Vice President Katainen

Romanian Prime Minister Victor Ponta stressed on Monday that the meeting he had with visiting European Commission Vice President Jyrki Katainen at Victoria Palace (the Govt's offices) earlier in the day had gone very well and had focused on unveiling the new 315 billion euro investment plan announced by the EU executive's chief Jean-Claude Juncker.

'I am glad Romania is the first EU state that European Commission Vice President Jyrki Katainen is visiting to present the new investment plan worth 315 billion euros announced by President Jean-Claude Juncker. Today's meeting went very well and I am grateful for the efforts being made by the European Commissioner for Regional Policy Corina Cretu to ease the dialogue with our European partners. Romania is promoting its projects and I hope we might have concrete results, with a positive impact on the life of all the Romanians', Ponta wrote on his Facebook page.
The European Commission vice president for jobs, economic growth, investments and competitiveness Katainen and Commissioner Cretu were on an official visit to Romania on Monday.
