Klaus Iohannis: PNL's National Political Bureau vote confirms party's reform desire

Former National Liberal Party (PNL) leader Klaus Iohannis on Thursday announced that Alina Gorghiu was elected chairperson of the old PNL and co-chair of the new PNL and underscored that the manner in which the National Political Bureau (BPN) acted confirmed the party's desire to reform.

'The manner in which the BPN acted, voted, confirms me the desire of PNL to reform, to modernise, to be the party showing how politics needs to be done in Romania, in order to be closer to people, in order to answer to the expectations of the people who vote for us and place us in these public offices,' Iohannis added.

He said he announced on Thursday his resignation from all the offices held in the party for being able to take over the mandate of Romania's President. AGERPRES
