Traian Basescu: It's been an honour to represent Romania to the European Council in the last 10 years

Incumbent president, Traian Basescu on Thursday declared that it has been an honour to represent Romania to the European Council in the past 10 years of mandate since he has participated in this structure's reunions.

'I am to participate in the last European Council, apart from the fact that the European Council itself has novelties I too turn sharply 10 years since I've participated for the first time in this EU fundamental structure. It's been an honour to me to represent Romania in this Union's body and I can assure you that in the past 10 years, I've represented Romania's interests at the very maximum threshold they could have been represented,' the head of state said at the Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport, minutes before taking off for Brussels' reunion.AGERPRES
