Opportunities to improve Serbia, South Korea cooperation
BELGRADE - Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic and South Korean Ambassador to Serbia Lee Do-hoon said Thursday that there great opportunities were opening for strengthening cooperation between the two countries, especially in the area of economy, the Serbian government's media relations office said in a release.
Ambassador Lee spoke positively about Prime Minister Vucic's firm hand in implementing vital reforms, pointing out that it was in South Korea's best interests to see its friendly country being a factor of stability in the Balkan region.
Prime Minister Vucic praised the role of South Korean companies, such as Yura and Samsung, on the Serbian market, and announced creating the best possible conditions for new investments.
Vucic emphasized the need for Serbia to become better known to South Koreans in order to attract tourists from that countries as well as investors.
The two officials agreed that introducing flights between Belgrade and Seoul would be of great help in that regard.
"South Korea is an example of how good work and discipline helps society progress," said the Serbian prime minister.
Ambassador Lee briefed Prime Minister Vucic about priorities of his ambassadorial work - his goal in the first half of next year is to have a delegation of an association of South Korean producers visit Serbia and to have Samsung expand its presence on the Serbian market by setting up production in the country.
South Korean companies operating in Serbia are impressed by the quality of local workers, said the ambassador.
Ambassador Lee took up office in Serbia last month.
