Belgrade children's theatre reopens after renovation
BELGRADE - The children's theatre Dusko Radovic reopened in Belgrade on Friday after renovation, with regular plays set to resume next month.
Theatre head Alek Rodic stressed that Belgrade had gained a modern facility, while the children got their old theatre dressed in new clothes.
City Manager Goran Vesic greeted on behalf of the city authorities all those who love the theatre.
This renovation is just the first of such projects that will include other cultural institutions, he said, adding that the renovation of the Children's Cultural Centre would start next year, and that there were also plans redecorate the children's theatre Bosko Buha.
A programme that included the actors of the theatre Dusko Radovic and a children's choir was performed at the reopening.
The renovation was started in March 2012.
The theater is now equipped with the latest technology and stage equipment. Besides the main stage, the entrance hall can also be transfromed into a small stage.
The theatre has been around for 65 years. It was moved into the building in the Tasmajdan park in 1968, and it got the name of famous writer of children's books Dusko Radovic after his death in 1984.
