Skiing season in Predeal official opening on Saturday

The 2014-2015 skiing season officially opens in Predeal on the Clabucet ski slope on Saturday, the city's mayor, Liviu Cocos, told AGERPRES.

The events start at 16,00 hours, in the Station Square, the departure point of three allegorical carts to the Clabucet ski slope. One of the carts represents the sleigh pulled by reindeer carrying Santa Claus, the second allegorical cart is made of fir trees, snowmen and other traditional winter decorations, and the Snow Queen's Castle is represented by the third allegorical cart.

The allegorical carts will be flanked on each side by men dressed as Santa Claus and Snowmen.

A concert performed by Andreea Balan, Shift and Denisa will start at the base of the Clabucet ski slope, at 17,00, on which occasion the Anthem of Predeal composed by Shift will be officially launched. After the concert, a skiing demonstration will take place on the Clabucet ski slope, with over 100 skiers participating, representatives of the Mountain Rescue Service, the Mountain Gendarmerie, the Mountain Huntsmen and the Skiing Schools of Predeal. The event will conclude at 20,00 hours, with a firework show.

"The skiing conditions are very good in Predeal after the snowfalls of the past few hours. The Clabucet ski slope has cable transportation and floodlights that can function after 21,00, at the tourists' request. The snow layer on the slope exceeds 40 centimetres. The resort is full of tourists and almost all 5,000 accommodation places are booked," Predeal resort mayor Liviu Cocos said. AGERPRES
