President Erdoğan, Moroccan king meet in Istanbul with families

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has met with Moroccan King Mohammed VI, who has been in Turkey for over a week, for a friendly meeting at an Istanbul palace.

Accompanied by their families, the two leaders held an unofficial meeting in Yıldız Palace in Istanbul on Dec. 27.

The Moroccan king had made an extravagant arrival in Turkey on Dec. 21 with five planes. Along with his spouse, Princess Lalla Salma of Morocco, his children Hassan and Khadija also accompanied the king during his Turkey visit and meeting with Erdoğan.

Erdoğan’s wife, Emine Erdoğan, and his daughter Sümeyye Erdoğan also attended the meeting.
The king, who was reportedly in Turkey for a vacation, is expected to pay an official visit to Turkey in 2015.
