Srpska List members leave Kosovo parliament session
PRISTINA - Members of the Srpska List left on Monday a Kosovo parliament session, which was to discuss the 2015 budget, as they were dissatisfied with the amount of funds allocated for the Serb-dominated municipalities.
Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Branimir Stojanovic said that members of the Srpska List have left the session because not even five percent, out of a total of EUR 1.7 billion, were allocated for the Serb-dominated local self-governments.
Moreover, it is very bad that there is no budget for the return of the displaced, he said.
"We will not partake in the adoption of such budget, since it does not meet the criteria for the development of the local self-governments and the return of the displaced," Stojanovic told Tanjug.
The Srpska List has nine out of 10 MPs representing the Serb community in the Kosovo parliament, and aside from the deputy prime minister, it also has two ministers in the government - for local self-government, and communities and return.
They entered the government formed on December 9, after the ruling coalition of the ethnic Albanian parties - the Democratic Party of Kosovo and the Democratic Alliance of Kosovo, accepted the majority of their requests.
These requests include those that refer to the functioning of the Association of Serb municipalities and creation of conditions for the return of the displaced.
