Bulgaria's Grigor Dimitrov to Start Against Chardy in Brisbane

Bulgaria's top tennis player Grigor Dimitrov is to face Jeremy Chardy from France in the second round of the Brisbane International tournament.

In the first round Chardy won with 6:4, 6:4 against Andrey Golubev from Kazahkstan in a tight match, electronic daily Dnevnik reports.

The Frenchman made use of two out of three opportunities to win a break, which proved decisive for his final success.

Dimitrov is well acquainted with Chardy, as the two have played together in doubles' tournaments.

Apart from this, Dimitrov and Chardy have played against each other twice, both games being at one of the Grand Slam tournaments.

The Frenchman won 6:2, 6:4, 6:4 on home soil at the Roland Garros in 2011, while Dimitrov defeated him 4:6, 6:3, 3:6, 6:4, 6:4 in an exciting match at the Australian Open an year later.

Dimitrov, who ranks fourth in the scheme of the tournament and rested in the first round, is to play Chardy on Wednesday or Thursday.
