Designer Marko Lukovic awarded in U.S.

BELGRADE - Marko Lukovic, Serbian industrial and automobile designer and professor at the Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade, won an international award for automotive design at the most prestigious annual U.S. competition Michelin Challenge Design in Detroit.

Lukovic is already known as the winner of the Peugeot Design Contest, the first international design competition organized by France's car manufacturer Peugeot.

The winning, futuristic concept car for 2020, Peugeot Moonster premiered at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2001, the same year when the author won the main October Salon award for this design.

This year's award was the third one that the Serbian designer won in America. He took part in the Roadstar Hyperion 2030 competition organized by Michelin USA, which brought together over 1,000 competitors from around the world. This futuristic vehicle will be presented at the forthcoming, largest U.S. car show in Detroit.

Lukovic won his first U.S. award in Detroit in 2011at the jubilee tenth competition Michelin Challenge Design for his model named Supersonic, a car vision for 2021.

He won the second award last year at the 13th Michelin Challenge Design for his model named TwinWay, a vision of an autonomous car.

Michelin Challenge Design is held every year in January since 2002, and the slogan of this year's competition was: "Drive Your Passion: Engaging Senses, Soul and Emotion".
