Dodik calls on Muslims to rally against terrorism

BELGRADE - President of Republika Srpska (RS) Milorad Dodik has warned that a great number of Mujahideen from Bosnia-Herzegovina (BiH) have gone to fight in Syria, adding that the situation in the country is fragile and therefore calls for closer cooperation with regards to security issues.

Not all Muslims are terrorists and the anti-Islamic atmosphere should be not be created, Dodik said and called on all Muslims and Bosniaks in security services to stand against the ones who pose a threat on the global level.

Dodik called for peace, adding that there should be no hesitation in the fight against this plague, noting about the recent terror attacks in Paris that claimed the lives of 17 people.

Speaking about the relations between the Muslim-Croat Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina (BiH) and RS, Dodik said that BiH is slowing down RS on its EU pathway.

"RS is not ready to accept any further transfer of jurisdictions to the central authorities, not even those that are paved with great perspectives, it rather intends to fight for the greatest degree of independence," Dodik said at a press conference after the talks with Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic in Belgrade on Tuesday.

Dodik underlined that RS does not question the internal organization of BiH, adding that the problem is that today's BiH has slowed down the functioning of the state as defined by the Dayton Peace Accords.

"We were stripped of more than 80 jurisdictions. RS gained nothing from that, it only suffered losses," Dodik underlined, adding that RS is fulfilling its obligations on the EU pathway and this will be the case in future as well.
