Simona Halep designated 'Athlete of the Year' by COSR

The Executive Committee of the Romanian Olympic and Sports Committee (COSR) has decided to designate Simona Halep 'Athlete of the Year' for the special results she obtained in 2014.

On the same occasion, the COSR President, Alin Petrache, renewed his invitation addressed to Simona Halep to be part of Romania's Olympic Team to participate in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio and he even invited her to bear the flag of the Romanian delegation, according to the website of the COSR.

'Together with my colleagues in the Executive Committee we decided that Simona Halep deserves this distinction for her results in 2014. It was a great year for her, she represented Romania with great honour through her victories claimed in 2014. More than that, I invite Simona Halep to join our Olympic Team to participate in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio and, if she accepts this proposal, I even invite her to bear our delegation's flag," said Alin Petrache.
