New Car Sales in Bulgaria Grow 5.2% in 2014
New car sales in Bulgaria increased by 5.2% last year, just off the average growth of 5.7% for the European Union, official figures showed on Friday.
In 2014, new car registrations in the EU increased for the first time since 2007 after having been on the decline for six years in a row, the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA) said in a statement.
According to ACEA data, 20,356 new passenger cars were sold in Bulgaria in 2014 compared to 19,352 the previous year.
Sales in December 2014, however, were 7.8% lower than in the same month of 2013, amounting to 1,932 cars.
New car sales in the EU totalled 12.55 million last year, an increase compared to 11.88 million in 2013. Unlike Bulgaria, however, the EU also recorded growth of 4.7% year-on-year in new car sales in December, to 951,329 units.
